We are seeking a highly qualified Safety Professional with expertise in natural gas or utility-related projects to oversee safety for a ground-up building construction and tenant improvement remodel project in San Bernardino, CA. This role involves ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting training, and fostering a proactive safety culture across diverse project phases.
Job Description
The Safety Professional will be responsible for overseeing safety programs and protocols during the construction of a new M&R Building and the tenant improvement remodel of an existing auditorium. The role requires implementing safety best practices, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and local regulations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in oil and gas or utility projects, a thorough understanding of construction safety standards, and the ability to manage safety needs proactively.
Our Expectations
- Safety Program Management:Oversee and enforce compliance with OSHA construction safety standards and state/local regulations.
Develop and implement project-specific safety plans and protocols.
Conduct regular safety audits, site inspections, and hazard assessments. - Training and Communication:Conduct daily tailboard meetings and ensure safe work practices are followed.
Collaborate with project teams during weekly meetings to address safety concerns and updates. - Incident Management:Investigate accidents or near-misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Maintain detailed safety records, including training logs, inspections, and incident reports. - Project-Specific Oversight:Ensure safety during all phases of ground-up construction, from site preparation to interior build-out.
Monitor tenant improvement activities, including demolition, structural adjustments, and utility installations.

$52 Hr.
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of safety experience, preferably within oil and gas or utility-related projects.
- A 4-year degree in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) or equivalent certifications (CHST, ASP, CSP, or CUSP).
- Strong knowledge of OSHA construction safety standards and relevant state/local regulations.
- Proven ability to conduct daily tailboard meetings, manage safe work practices, and collaborate during weekly project meetings.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing regular and after-hours safety needs.
